Vermont Community Champions
Celebrating People Who Care

RECOGNIZING COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS

Vermont Care Champions are community members who step up to support others within their own towns, networks, and shared spaces.

Working alongside Tuktu Care, this growing group of local Champions offers companionship and practical, non-medical support to people who benefit most from strong community connections. As we begin in Vermont, our focus is simple: build care through trust, relationships, and community rooted support.

Become a Community Champion

ALL ABOUT CARE AND COMMUNITY

Many Vermonters live independently but feel disconnected from the communities around them. Accessing everyday help, transportation, or companionship can be difficult, especially when families are far away or traditional services are limited.

At the same time, Vermont is rich in community spirit. People who want to show up, share their time, and contribute in meaningful ways.

Tuktu Care supports this by strengthening local community care networks, where support flows through people who already understand the rhythms, values, and needs of their communities.

Vermont Care Champions are part of a growing movement to keep care personal, local, and human.

EVERY CHAMPION IS AN UNIQUE CARE LEADER

Vermont Care Champions are community anchored individuals who bring their own strengths, experiences, and perspectives into care relationships.

They come from diverse backgrounds and age groups, often living and participating in the same communities as the people they support.

Matches are built around shared values, preferences, availability, and mutual comfort.

As this community grows, we are intentionally starting small, allowing trust and relationships to form naturally before expanding further.

Become a Community Champion

OUR UNIQUE SELECTION PROCESS

Our selection process focuses on people who show genuine commitment to community care.

Each Champion completes an onboarding process that includes conversations, references, and appropriate background checks. Recognition comes through consistency, care quality, and community feedback.

This process continues to evolve alongside the Vermont community, guided by real relationships and lived experience.
